Rückblick Maimarkt und verkaufsoffener Sonntag
Das Wetter muss man nehmen, wie es kommt. Die Marktbeschicker und das Publikum beim Maimarkt am 24. April beherrschten diese Kunst und machten das Beste draus. Trotz Kälte und kurzen Schneegestöbern waren viele Menschen in Gablenberg und Ostheim unterwegs. 

Sie wärmten sich, wenn mal ein paar Sonnenstrahlen rausschauten oder drinnen in einem der geöffneten Fachgeschäft, in denen man sich in aller Ruhe umschauen, Schuhe, Kleider oder Brillen anprobieren, in Büchern schmökern oder Geschenke aussuchen konnte. Auch ein Abstecher ins MUSE-O oder ins Kinder- und Jugendhaus Ostend, das mit einem Tag der offenen Tür lockte, war möglich. Von Gablenberg nach Ostheim fuhr die Bimmelbahn und brachte die Besucher bequem voran. Wer lieber auf Pferdestärken setzte, konnte dagegen die Ponykutsche nehmen. Und auf dem Rücken der Ponys in Gablenberg und auf der Mittelinsel der Ostenstraße genossen Kinder eine Runde Glück.
